Second Annual PA History Roundtable Discussion

A group of faculty and alumni from the Physician Assistant program shared with students their experiences as PAs and thoughts about the future of their profession as part of the second annual “PA History Roundtable Discussion.” 

Addressing PA students during the Professional Issues and Ethics course, panelists discussed their career paths, leadership roles and academic and clinical successes and challenges, as well as the history and the future of the PA profession.

The panel included: James Carlson, PhD ’12, MS ’01, vice president for interprofessional education and simulation; Assistant Professor Lisa Charles Fields, PhD, MS ’00, PA-C, clinical preceptor and founder of the Intervention Arms clinic in North Chicago; Thomas Hansen, MS, PA-C, clinical coordinator; Rea Katz, PhD, PA-C, associate professor and associate vice president of faculty development; and Patrick Knott, MS, PhD, PA-C, professor of physician assistant studies.
