Chicago Medical School Supplemental Application and Fee

The Chicago Medical School Supplemental Application and application fee must be completed to finalize your application. Upon submission of the Supplemental Application, you will be prompted to pay a non-refundable $140 Supplemental Application processing fee. Applicants who have been granted an AMCAS Fee Assistance Program (FAP) fee waiver will automatically receive a waiver of the Chicago Medical School Supplemental Application fee and will not be required to submit payment.

MCAT Exam

Applicants are required to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) for their application to be considered complete and eligible for review by the Student Admissions Committee. For the current admissions cycle, only MCAT scores from exams taken on or after January 1, 2024, will be accepted. The latest MCAT administration that will be considered is September 30, 2026. Applicants who take the MCAT after this date are encouraged to apply during the next admissions cycle. If multiple MCAT scores are available, Chicago Medical School will use the highest MCAT score in its admissions review process.

AAMC Preview Professional Readiness Exam

To further strengthen our mission-aligned review process, Chicago Medical School recommends—but does not require—that applicants complete the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Professional Readiness Exam (PREview) as part of their application during the 2026–2027 admissions cycle.

Early Decision Program

Candidates for the Early Decision Programs must have complete applications by the August 1 deadline including MCAT scores. Candidates unable to meet the August 1 deadline are welcome to apply as a regular admissions applicants.

Letters of Recommendation

Candidates must choose one of the following options to satisfy our letters of recommendation requirement:

Please Note: No more than three individual letters, one committee letter, or one letter packet containing a maximum of three individual letters will be considered in evaluating your application. All letters must be included in your AMCAS application.

Academic Preparation Requirements

Applicants must complete at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework at a regionally accredited college or university before applying to Chicago Medical School.

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required prior to matriculation for all applicants.

Prerequisite Coursework

Required Prerequisite Courses:

  • One year Introductory Biology with accompanying laboratory (*or equivalent)
  • One year Physics with accompanying laboratory
  • Two-year Chemistry sequence that includes all three of these chemistry disciplines
    • General/Inorganic Chemistry with accompanying laboratory
    • Organic Chemistry with accompanying laboratory
    • Biochemistry (accompanying laboratory recommended but not required)
  • Two courses in Behavioral/Social Sciences - First-year Psychology and Sociology courses strongly suggested. Please note that a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite coursework.

Recommended Prerequisite Courses:

  • One course in Statistics
  • One course in Advanced Biology (200 level or above) - Molecular and Cell Biology, Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology, Neurobiology
  • English composition
  • Other coursework in the Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Please note that a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite coursework.

*Applicants are encouraged to gain research laboratory experience either through research or a laboratory research course. We will accept pass/no pass grades, without prejudice, for courses taken during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will accept online coursework including labs recognized and verified by AMCAS, without prejudice for courses taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.

AMCAS Choose your Medical School Tool

Plan to Enroll (PTE) and Commit to Enroll (CTE)

Chicago Medical School participates in the AAMC Choose Your Medical School (CYMS) program through AMCAS.

Accepted applicants are required to comply with the AAMC Application and Acceptance Protocols and meet all Chicago Medical School enrollment deadlines.

  • Plan to Enroll (PTE): Indicates that Chicago Medical School is your preferred medical school while allowing you to remain on waitlists or hold other acceptances as permitted by AAMC guidelines.
  • Commit to Enroll (CTE): Confirms your final decision to attend Chicago Medical School. Applicants selecting CTE must withdraw from all other medical schools and alternate lists before matriculation.

Applicants who select Commit to Enroll at another medical school or who fail to meet Chicago Medical School's enrollment deadlines may have their offer of admission withdrawn or be removed from further consideration.

Specific PTE and CTE deadlines will be communicated directly to accepted applicants each admissions cycle.

For the 2026-2027 cycle, candidates must complete this requirement by May 31, 2027.

  • Primary Application: November 1, 2026
  • Secondary Application: December 1, 2026
  • Plan to Enroll: April 30, 2027
  • Commit to Enroll: To be announced by mid - August 2026
