糖心Vlog the DPT Program

If I am admitted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at 糖心Vlog of Medicine and Science, can I select any of my own rotations during my clinicals?

Students have the opportunity to indicate their preferences for clinical rotation experiences from a provided list. While placements cannot be guaranteed, the program makes every effort to align students with, or as closely as possible to, their preferred rotation settings. For the third and final placements students are allowed to select preferences from a list of available options or collaborate with the clinical education team to find a placement not found on the list.

Will I be able to work an outside job while I am going to school?

Our curriculum is rigorous, and students should carefully consider outside employment commitments, particularly during clinical rotations. Classes are typically held Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm, which can limit availability for additional responsibilities. While some students with strong time management and organizational skills may choose to work limited part-time hours on or off campus, the ability to do so successfully is highly individualized.

Can I specialize?

The DPT program is designed to prepare students to become well-rounded entry-level physical therapists capable of practicing across a variety of patient populations and settings. While physical therapist education is not intended to produce specialists at the time of graduation, students are exposed to a range of specialty practice areas throughout the curriculum through didactic coursework, clinical education experiences, and opportunities within the professional practicum independent study experiences.

In addition, our faculty members represent a variety of areas of expertise, providing students with mentorship and exposure to varied fields within physical therapy practice. Following graduation, some students may choose to pursue post-professional residency or fellowship training to develop advanced knowledge and skills within specialty practice areas.

How does the program support students in securing employment after graduation?

Employment preparation and career development are supported through a variety of curricular and programmatic experiences throughout the DPT program. Students receive guidance related to professional development, including resume review, mock interviews, networking opportunities, and participation in an annual job fair with regional and national employers. Clinical education experiences also frequently serve as important networking and employment opportunities, with many students receiving job offers prior to graduation.

The profession continues to demonstrate strong workforce demand for physical therapists, and our program has maintained a 100% employment rate for graduates seeking employment. In addition, employment opportunities shared with the university and program are regularly distributed directly to students and graduates.

Do you offer shadowing opportunities?

The DPT program at 糖心Vlog does not offer shadowing opportunities within the program or endorse any specific outside organizations. To complete the required 40 observation hours, we recommend contacting physical therapy clinics or healthcare facilities directly to inquire about shadowing opportunities. Gaining experience in a variety of physical therapy settings is encouraged to help develop a well-rounded understanding of the profession.

Prerequisite Courses

Can I take my prerequisites at 糖心Vlog of Medicine and Science?

No. 糖心Vlog does not offer undergraduate coursework.

Can you help me determine if my coursework meets the prerequisite requirements?

We generally do not conduct degree or course audits prior to the submission of an application. A comprehensive review of your application will be completed after submission, and any questions regarding prerequisite coursework will be addressed at that time. Please note that applicants may have up to one-third of the required prerequisite coursework outstanding at the time of application, provided all requirements are completed prior to matriculation. You can view all accepted courses for each prerequisite on our .

I have prerequisite coursework still in progress. Can I still apply?

Yes. Applicants may have up to one-third of the required prerequisite coursework outstanding at the time of application (about 3 courses). Be sure to identify that the missing coursework is listed as “Planned” or “In-Progress” in your PTCAS application. If admitted with remaining prerequisite coursework in progress, students must provide proof of satisfactory completion prior to the first day of Orientation. Applicants are encouraged to submit an Academic Update through PTCAS when it becomes available.

I did better in my recent college coursework but my GPA is low from my initial courses. Can I still apply?

When reviewing applications, the Admissions Committee considers more than just the overall GPA. Academic performance over time is also evaluated, and positive upward trends are viewed favorably during the review process.

Can prerequisite courses be fulfilled with classes taken at the graduate level?

Yes. Coursework completed at the graduate level can fulfill a prerequisite course as long as the course is in the same field of study, and meets the required credit hours outlined in the application requirements.

If my science prerequisites are outside the 5 years, am I disqualified?

Science prerequisite coursework (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology) must have been completed within five years of entry into the DPT program. However, continued competency in the sciences may be demonstrated through additional upper-division coursework beyond the general science prerequisites. Any waiver of this requirement is reviewed and determined by the program on a case-by-case basis. Non-science prerequisite coursework must have been completed within the past 10 years.

Preparation for licensure is integrated throughout the curriculum and supported through a variety of programmatic resources designed to promote long-term learning, clinical reasoning, and test-taking readiness.

Students receive ongoing support related to study strategies, self-regulated learning, and test-taking approaches throughout the program. In addition, students complete annual comprehensive examinations designed to reinforce knowledge integration, identify areas for growth, and build readiness for the NPTE. Prior to graduation, students also participate in an externally supported 20-week NPTE preparation program that includes structured review, practice examinations, and individualized performance feedback.
